Meet Sharon D. Epps
Empowering Poet, Author, and Advocate
Sharon D. Epps (Ms. Poet) is a North Chicago–based poet, author, motivational speaker, digital creator, and performer. Born in Zion, Illinois, her artistic and spiritual journey was deeply transformed on October 13, 1993.
Her books, including My Cup Ain't Empty...It's Full of Me! and God Has Filled My Cup, explore faith, growth, and cultural identity. Sharon’s poetry centers on personal experience, faith, and the African American journey, and her dynamic portrayals of Harriet Tubman—performed at Black History Month events, Juneteenth celebrations, and community gatherings—blend poetry, storytelling, and historical reenactment to educate and inspire.
Active in local literary events, poetry luncheons, and cultural programs, she uses her platform to promote resilience and cultural heritage. Sharon connects with audiences via Facebook and Instagram and is respected across Illinois for her commitment to faith, community uplift, and storytelling.
